A tier 1 investor Visa provides a route for high-net-worth individuals to enter the UK and fast-track their way to settlement. 10-year Long Residence 

If you have completed 10 years continuous lawful residence in the UK you may be entitled to apply for indefinite leave to remain (ILR) in the UK under the Long Residence Rule. This category provides a path to permanent residence for people who hold or have held visas that do not necessarily lead to ILR including visit and student visas.

The basic requirements for a long residence application are that you have held continuous lawful visa permission for 10 years and that you have not been absent from the UK for more than 18 months over a 10 year period.
Previous applications that have been submitted to the Home Office late may impact on the prospects of a successful 10 Year application.

Naturalisation
If you wish to naturalise as a British citizen, you must hold indefinite leave to remain (permanent residence), be of good character, and meet certain minimum residence requirements.
There are three main routes to British naturalisation:

• marriage or civil partnership with a British citizen

• completing a qualifying residence period; and
  ‍
• (for EEA nationals and their dependantsonly) completing a qualifying residence period in the UK in exercise of Treatyrights.

Other Nationality Types
‍If you’ve lived in the UK for five years and hold Indefinite Leave to Remain, you may be able to apply for British citizenship. This will allow you to stay inthe UK permanently with the same rights as UK citizens.
